About us

Corridor C Antwerp – Basle/Lyon is a rail line enabling faster, safer and more punctual freight transport.

Corridor C aims to create a fast, strong and high-quality rail connection between the Antwerp port area (Belgium) and the industrial centres of Lyon (France) and Basle (Switzerland). The concept fits in with the European policy to create a freight-oriented transnational railway network.

The corridor will increase efficiency, reliability and durability of the end-to-end railway freight traffic. At the same time, it will strengthen the railway’s competitiveness compared to road transport.

The European Commission initiated the Corridor C project and heavily subsidises it.
